Executive summary

We have been contacted by the South-West England tourism department with the view of underlying some USP about the creation of their e-tourism web site. At the same time, they have asked us to check if there is a demand and to characterize their expectations. All of this information should help the company in its MR budget estimation.

Introduction

This report will look at: The net surfer’s consumption habitsTheir expectations about e-tourism

Findings

Ø      A lot of people have access to the Internet and it is clear that the Internet is a substantial tool for research purposes. 85% of the people questioned have already bought something on the Internet. People have no fear. Nevertheless it’s more beneficial to use security payment facilities instead of pay pal. Most of your clients need a guarantee and security. ..,68.4 % of them have already bought travel tickets on the Internet. With this data we can confirm that there is a substantial e-tourism market. Moreover the purchase frequency is high (3-7 per year).

Ø      It is very important to categorize on a research engine. Due to the cost of it, we have tried to find the most used research engine. We found that Google is the most popular research engine and we think it is necessary to be listed on this website. This type of ad, even if it’s quite expensive, will increase the number of visitors and you will be able to reach your targets and widen your market.

Ø      The choice of the key word is important aswell. When we ask people about the words which they use when they research travel, the 3 frequently used words are: low cost, travel, holidays. So you have to use these key words on your website, moreover the town names should      be a priority for instance:
Bournemouth,
Poole,….

Ø      On the net, it’s a bonus to have a famous partnership, and so we have looked to see which e-tourism web sites are the most popular. We suggest that you create a partnership with these companies.  If they add links on their website it will improve your notoriety. They will recommend your website to their clients. The most popular e-tourism website are : easyjet, sncf, tomas cook, air
france

Ø      About the features of your website, customers are sensitive: -                          First to the price. You are supposed to be more competitive, to propose special price offers-                          Second, the quality, in this term we make reference to the security payment, the quality of the information, the clarity of the website, the quality of the travel ( hotel, …) all of this quality criteria will improve your brand recognition and image-                          Then, the service is important too, for example hotline and after sale service -                          The choice of the destination is not the most important, but you should not neglect this parameter

Conclusion

You have a substantial market. In this survey we have given you the USP and we have offered a solution for becoming well known in the South West of England E-tourism
